Twitter Communities Visible on Profile!

Another step forward for Twitter! The social media platform has added a new feature that lets users personalize their professional profiles even more. A brand new spotlight module that lets pro users feature a twitter community on their professional profile.

What’s New With Communities?

This update comes as no surprise given that users have been asking for an option like this for a while. We have no idea what took so long, but we’re so happy users can take advantage of this great feature.

The key point that this new feature hits is allowing users to feature twitter communities above their feed. So, when someone visits your profile they will first see your details, like follower counts and handle. You know all that jazz.

Here’s what Twitter said about the newest update:

you’ve been asking… and now we’re testing! some admins and mods with a Professional Account will be able to highlight one of their Communities on their profile 🤩 rolling out now on iOS and web, Android coming soon pic.twitter.com/lLxUJM1o46 — Twitter Communities (@HiCommunities) October 24, 2022

Then listed just below is where the community can be found on your professional profile. Many believe this change comes as an attempt to facilitate more discussion on twitter communities.

Professional Profiles

Of course this new feature is a game changer for professionals who use Twitter. However, with this change they also have access to a bunch of features available to users with pro accounts.

Content Manager Andrew Hutchinson reports additional new features that go along with a pro account. He says they include “improved analytics display, professional category options, additional contact details and more.” Additionally, that means Professional profiles can pick from the five spotlight elements.

The Spotlight Elements

Social Media Today lays out the elements that Twitter offers when a user transitions their profile into a professional profile.

Firstly, there is the Mobile App Spotlight where your Twitter feed will show an app at the top. Following up with the Link Spotlight which you can add a link to your page with a call to action using a big button. Who doesn’t love a good CTA, right?!

Third on the list is the Shop Module. This element enables users to highlight products in the app with links to direct purchases. And last but most definitely not least is the Location Spotlight. This allows users to display the location, contact information, and operating hours for your company.

For now, we are still waiting to see how much users will love this feature. Who knows, maybe we’ll be seeing more from Twitter communities and spotlight elements in the coming months.
